Because life with horses is never orderly.

The Idea of Order

Happy Thanksgiving…

Because sometimes in life we finally see what’s actually important.
This year I find myself particularly moved by, and quite thankful for, the outpouring of love and support from across the United States for the victims of the Camp and Woosley Fires in Ca. I cannot begin to fathom the terror and heartbreak involved in those but I am deeply grateful to see people from all walks of life coming together to help one another. In a time where things seem so antagonistic and divisive, there’s comfort in seeing that sort of compassion. Please do keep the victims as well as those offering their support in your thoughts this holiday season; it’s a long road ahead but it will be a smoother one if we continue to help one another.

Fall…

More a verb than a noun these days.
So this morning was apparently the first real morning of fall and no one was pleased. If I were bright I’d have followed my own advice above. Instead, I pressed on and rode through an impressive array of shenanigans. One of these days I’ll learn to make better life choices. 😉

Alas, it is true…

Who wants to donate money to send poor, frozen Woody to Florida for the Winter? I’d of course go to babysit him. 😉
I’m not sure what sense there is behind horses shedding right before they grow in their winter coat. I mean really, it seems to me that it’d be more energy efficient to just add a bit more hair to what’s already there. In any event, it is a telltale sign that summer is coming to a close and while I am enjoying the descent into Fall, I am dreading the inevitable cold (and for me cold is anything below 50 degrees. 😉 ). Woody senses it too and he is not a happy camper (for him cold is anything below 70 degrees).
