Spooky Season

Happy Halloween! (Almost)

Spooky Season is quickly approaching and for some — like my gelding– it will be a fleeting moment where he can hopefully mooch more snacks from the feckless Small Predators.πŸ˜…πŸŽƒ

For others, however, it’s a perpetual state of being (looking at you, Red Mare, we all know that’s not an act. πŸ«£πŸ˜±πŸ™„)

Equestrian Beach Vacation…

So, it seems that Summer is almost here! (In some parts of the world – you know the *better places* sans β€˜winter’ – it actually almost feels like it!)πŸ˜‰
That means it’s also almost time for normal people to escape the heat and take glorious beach vacations and trips to the lake! πŸ˜ƒ
But not equestrians. We have no time AND no money. *Wah, Wah* πŸ˜”
But(!)β€” I have a solution; I present to you all, an equestrian’s β€˜Beach vacation.’ Looks splendid, yes?πŸ˜‚

You’re welcome.

‘Tis the Season…

…to find your joy. Just not too much if you wanna fit into your breeches in January. πŸ˜‰
This is a retread from 2017, but it seemed worth revisiting. With the book released this month and the rest of life slowing calming, it’s time to foist more NEW comics upon you all for 2022.

Worries…

They certainly vary by species.
I tend to be a worrier by nature, but when it comes to my horses I’m actually a little crazy (admit it, you all are too. πŸ˜‰ ). Of course even though I spend 98% of my day concerned that my herd hasn’t done something exceedingly expensive, stupid, or vet worthy, I am sure they remain unburdened by such silliness. Good for them I suppose. πŸ˜€

Rudeness…

If he weren’t so cute he’d be dead.
I absolutely HATE being headbutted by a sweaty beast once the bridle is removed. None of my clients’ horses do this nonsense. But then there’s The Beastlet… he’s a special kind of spoiled. πŸ˜‰ It’s a good thing I love him as much as I do or he’d be so dead.

Story of my Life…

Maybe they see dead people?
..with Warmbloods anyway. The Beastlet is quite content to schlep around doing stretchy work or walking on a long rein–even with the million heavy trucks, cars, and motorcycles that rampage along the miniature highway next to our ring– without so much as even a glance. But pick him up and go to work and suddenly even the AIR is cause for spooking.
