The Idea of Order

The Endless Summer is Ending…

AND WINTER IS COMING!!
I’m weeping on the inside. Hell, I’m also weeping (and loudly complaining) on the outside. 😉 While I honestly like fall quite a bit, given how unbearable I consider winter I just can’t get on board with it. Also, and this is blasphemy to some, I am not a pumpkin-secnted-flavored-colored fan. So really there’s not a whole lot awesome about this time of year. (Except Halloween; I love Halloween). But seriously though, here’s to surviving the doom we know is to come…

Shocking Indeed…

…and by that I mean highly annoying.
Coming from Florida where the average humidity is like 110%, this whole static electricity thing was somewhat foreign to me. Rest assured though that I’m now quite familiar with it and have added it (along with the trauma it brings my young, less than stoic, warmblood) to my myriad list of reasons that winter is worthless.

Small Predators are easily chilled…

At least this one is.
I feel like this is what my horse is saying to me every time I go to throw yet another blanket on him. Of course I’m fairly certain that nine times out of ten I blanket him according to how cold I feel instead of what’s likely more appropriate for a 1200lb hairball. This tendency is of course exacerbated by the fact that I’m from Florida (a land free of this Winter bogusness) and think anything below 70 is uncivilized.

Ah, Majikal Snow…

…destroyer of my endless summer dreams.
If you’ve followed this comic for half a minute you know my feelings on winter and snow. But, just in case you’ve forgotten or thought perhaps my living in an area that has both of these abominations has changed me, here’s a reminder. 😉 Please come back, June! I miss you and your 110 degrees.

Happy New Year!

I’m pretty sure my guys also resolve to find even more new and exciting ways to maim themselves and subsequently drive me crazy.
Here’s to a fabulous 2015! Best wishes to you and your families (and may your horses be unsuccessful in their attempts to drive you mad with their random shenanigans). 😀

Another Winter Treat…

Pretty sure *I* can’t run in stilettos so I’m unsure how my three year old manages it without killing himself (yet anyway).
So my horses had their feet done the day *before* we got a bunch of snow dumped on us (along with some awesome subzero temperatures). The subject of ‘popper pads’ came up and I declined having him put them on having never experienced the gloriousness that is taking a claw hammer to the foot of a wiggling three-year-old in an attempt to remove the six inch tall ice wad from his shoes. Good times indeed. I believe I will start raising funds to head to Florida. Anyone there care to loan me some barn space until about April? 😉

It might be time for those trough heaters…

Yes, hello Winter, you creep. Isn’t it time for you to leave yet?
It’s officially here; I’ve had to break ice off the water troughs in the mornings and the other day I wrote my name in the frost/snow with Stormy’s hoof prints during our warmup. While the latter was fun, I’m already ready for summer to come back.
